When thunders roar, go indoors, that warning from Environment Canada.  Meteorologist Matt Macdonald says now that summer is here, many people will be outside but they should know about the dangers of lightning.  He says try to get into a fully enclosed building if caught in a storm but he knows that isn't always possible.

"Number one is stay away from tall objects because lightning likes to strike trees, mountaintops and large structures, so just stay away from tall objects" says Macdonald, "and then the second thing you can do is crouch down in a small ball and remain standing on your feet."

Macdonald says ten Canadians are killed every year from lightning.
