NewsPROVINCE INTRODUCES SERVICE TO FORGE FOREST INDUSTRY CONNECTIONS
Prince George, B.C. - The Province has introduced a new service that significantly changes the mandate of the Ministry of Forests and Range. That from Minister of Forests and Range Pat Bell, who says Fibre Connections BC will make it possible to share information among buyers, sellers and investors in a co-ordinated way. Bell says 72 officers from all areas of the province will share their expertise and help create connections to streamline the flow of BC wood. He says people can direct their inquiries to any Forest District, government agency, or Front Counter BC office and they will be linked up with one of the fibre officers. Bell says Fibre Connections BC was created in response to a recommendation from the Working Roundtable on Forestry and the 2009 report, "Generating More Value from Our Forests."
