BC ranchers have another customer to sell their beef too.  Last week, the government announced Canadian beef will be exported to the United Arab Emirates after a decade of being shut out of the country.  Prince George's Bar K Ranch Manager Mark Grafton says this a huge benefit to B-C ranchers since the UAE will be taking all categories of beef.

"So that means that they will be taking bone-in and over 30 month old beef, which some of the other countries are not," says Grafton, "so the United Arab Emirates is following World Trade Organization recommendations, which is important to Canada."

Grafton says Canadian beef to the United Arab Emirates had been cut off since 2002's BSE crisis.  He says about a quarter million dollars worth of beef will sent to the UAE annually.
