NewsLibrary Concerned About National Archives Loan Service Closing
The Prince George Public Library is concerned with the closing of the National Archives Interlibrary Loan services. Due to budget constraints, interlibrary services will be closed, meaning Canadians will no longer be able to access historical archives. Chief Librarian Allan Wilson says the interlibrary services were seen as a co-operative between the National library and public ones. "And to have it close down is a blow to those who are really into researching the history of Canada," says Wilson, "particularly genealogists, researchers and history buffs." Wilson says the national archives hold information such as genealogy and publishing records. The National Library and Archives Canada Interlibrary Loan services will be closed starting February, 2013. Most Viewed Stories
