Six months in, the owner of a restaurant in Prince George says a liquor law that allows people to bring their wine to restaurants is working out as planned.

Ryan Cyre owns the White Goose Bistro.

"Yes, it's pretty much doing what I was hoping it would do. It's pretty tough with our liquor laws in BC for anyone to come out and drink let alone bring wine as it is already because of our laws so this helps a little bit."

Cyre says the change isn't about bringing a cheap bottle of wine to dinner but rather about giving wine connoisseurs a chance to pair their fine wine with an expensive dinner.

He says he has a group of ten to 20 regulars who take advantage of it on a regular basis.

Cyre says the corkage fee costs $15.
