Care Card Changes Coming Friday
The change to provincial Care Cards begins on Friday.
Minister of Health Margaret Macdiarmid says the new card will have more security features.
"Friday's the first day that people can go and when they renew their drivers license, they can also get a new BC Services Card. This will serve as the MSP card, and it will be a new card that has anti-fraud features and is much more secure."
The new card will have your photograph on it as well, and it will expire every five years.
Macdiarmid says residents will also have the option to combine their Care Card with their drivers license.
She says the big reason a change was needed is because there's over 9 million Care Cards in circulation, but only 4.4 million British Columbians.
