NewsSD57 says "No" to Parents Paying for School Bus Service
Prince George, B.C. - Half a million in overspending on bus transportation was again a hot topic for School District 57 Trustees during a meeting last night. Despite being in the red, the Board of Education has given a firm 'no' to parents footing the bill for school bus service. Trustees are overwhelmingly in favour of seeking other options. Board Trustee, Trish Bella, says school transportation is part and parcel of living in the second largest school district in the province. "We are a rural district...part of what we do is get kids to school," said Bella. The Board of Education has approved a motion for senior administration to more efficiently transport students. Monitoring ridership is one suggestion. 12:17am | 94X and The Wolf News Most Viewed Stories
