NewsNo Injuries in Train Derailment Near Vanderhoof
Thursday, December 22, 2011 - 9:54 AM Tracks near Vanderhoof where a CN train derailed yesterday morning are now open. CN spokesperson Warren Chandler says 18 coal cars went off the tracks about 10 kilometres east of Vanderhoof around 6:00. "There were no injuries," says Chandler, "CN crews responded to the scene and the track has reopened as of 7:15 am this morning." Chandler says the coal that spilled from the cars did not end up in any body of water and there is no impact to the environment. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
