A wide range of Canadians met in Ottawa yesterday to show their opposition to a proposed pipeline project.

First Nations leaders along with business, environment, and labour groups have discussed concerns with the Northern Gateway Project.

Chief Jackie Thomas of the Yinka Dene Alliance says their group of five First Nations will not allow Enbridge on their land.

"It's a threat to our water resource, our fish resource, our wildlife resource and the medicines that my people gather sometimes in the bush."

Thomas was accompanied by the spokespersons for the United Fisherman's and Allied Workers Union, Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada, King Pacific Lodge, West Coast Environmental Law, and Environmental Defence.

The delegation met with MPs from opposition parties.
