The New Horizons for Seniors Program helps seniors across Canada through federal government funding.

Organizations can receive up to 25 thousand dollars in funding per year for community-based programs.

Cariboo-Prince George MP Dick Harris says the funding goes to improving their way of living.

"It's funding to allow seniors to improve their well-being and their quality of life. For volunteering, mentoring, expanding awareness of elder abuse, social participationg and capital assistance - which in many cases means repairs and maintenance to seniors meeting halls."

Any seniors organizations can apply, and the deadline is June 29th.
