The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a high streamflow advisory for the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers.

The advisory is due to the delayed spring melt and forecasted 15 to 45 mm of rain over the weekend.

River levels are expected to rise on Sunday and into Monday if the expected amount of rain falls.

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is advising people who live near the Bulkley River to prepare.

Advice includes putting together a list of personal property and creating an emergency kit and grab bag.

Updates on the situation will be posted on the Regional District's website as required.
