After serving two years as the CEO for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, Don Gowan is leaving.  Gowan has a new job as Regional General Manager for Finning Canada, and while he wasn't looking for the role, he couldn't pass up the great opportunity.  Gowan says his past two years at Spirit of the North have been incredible.

"I really enjoyed the outcomes, the things that Spirit of the North is able to do thanks to the donors," says Gowan, "the quality of equipment, the enhancement of healthcare for people, when you see it first hand its very impressive and very rewarding."

Gowan says it was amazing to see how generous people are, even outside of Prince George in places like Fraser Lake and Smithers.  The foundation is currently searching for Gowan's replacement, and the volunteer executive will be assisting in managing the foundation until the CEO position is filled.
