Prince George, B.C.

New electoral boundaries proposed by the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission will have little impact on Prince George.

The Prince George-Peace River riding be extended to include all of area "H" in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.

No changes have been proposed for the portion of the city and regional district covered by the Cariboo-Prince George riding.

Chair Judge John Hall says the commission is considering some other minor changes that fall outside of Prince George.

"Somebody suggested some time ago that maybe it would make sense to take Fort St. James and put it in with Vanderhoof which is I think part of Prince George-Cariboo currently," said Hall.

The commission will be in Prince George to hear from the public about the proposed changes on September 17th.

Those who want to make a presentation at the hearing must notify the commission by August 30th.
