A request by the Treasure Cove Casino to expand their liquor license was approved by City Council Monday night.

President John Major says they've decided to expand the liquor license area to include the slot area, gaming area, and poker room.

"It's mainly driven by the customers that want to have a drink, to be able to take their drink onto the floor. We've just had so many questions by people why they can't do that when they can do it in most other casinos in B.C. and Alberta."

Major says he's not sure yet when the changes will come into effect.
