Fraser Lake Legion to Hold Donation Drive For Burns Lake

A donation drive for those affected by the fire at the Babine Forest Product mill in Burns Lake last week is taking place in Fraser Lake. Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at the Fraser Lake Legion from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Organizer Orlanthia Habsburg says she doesn't have a personal connection to the tragedy, she simply wants to help.

"I know that this is going to affect a lot of people," says Habsburg, "My son skates in Burns Lake. I just know that this is a really huge deal for them, and I just feel so... helpless, and this is the only thing I could think of to do to help out."

After tomorrow, donations can be dropped off at the Legion until February 7th.

Habsburg says any financial donations will go towards the Lakes District Tragedy Fund set up at CIBC.
