Members of the Kordyban Lodge Campaign Cabinet are the recipients of a national award from the Canadian Cancer Society.

Regional Manager Margaret Jones-Bricker says the Circle of Distinction Award was given to the members for their work in raising money to build the lodge.

"The Circle of Distinction Award recognizes the strength of volunteer and staff working together toward a common goal for the Canadian Cancer Society. The members of the Kordyban Lodge Campaign Cabinet were all very pleased and honoured to receive this recognition."

Jones-Bricker says the Kordyban Lodge will fill a huge need in northern B.C., providing affordable accomodation for cancer patients, with a number of services such as an activity room, tv lounge and patio.

She adds that while they surpassed their 10 million dollar goal, they're still accepting donations towards the lodge as the money will be kept for future enhancements to the lodge.
