The Alzheimer Society in Prince George is looking for volunteers to help organize the annual Walk For Memories in January.

CEO Jean Blake says it's a grassroots community-driven event.

"Volunteer committees in the community really bring this event to life. It's as much about raising awareness and celebrating the life of someone who's been impacted by the disease, as well as to help raise money for the Alzheimer Society of BC's programs and services."

Blake says they're looking for at least a volunteer chair or co-chairs, and the Society would then help them with finding more volunteers.

The Walk raised 25 thousand dollars for the Society last year.

If you'd like to help out, you can either contact the Alzheimer Society provincial office, or visit their website.
