Mackenzie RCMP are currently searching Carp Lake for a missing Prince George man.

Constable Lesley Smith says the man is feared to have drowned after an incident on the weekend.

"Mackenzie RCMP, Mackenzie Search and Rescue volunteers, and RCMP Air Services have been searching Carp Lake since Sunday. That's when a missing male reportedly jumped off his boat to retrieve his hat, unfortunately he was not wearing a personal floatation device, and by the time his friends had turned the boat around the male had disappeared under the water."

Smith says the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team have also attended the scene and with the help of Search and Rescue volunteers they will continue to search the lake.

Carp Lake is located 30km west of Mcleod Lake.
