The annual Summerfest celebration returns to the streets of Downtown Prince George on August 19, 2011.

The event has been organized by the Downtown Business Improvement Association to bring the community together.

Coordinator Heidi Martel says a highlight will be the taste pavilion, which features food samples from 16 restaurants.

"Part of the outcome we like to see, especially for our participating restaurants, is that the people will have gone and tried these different tasting items from these restaurants and that they will then go down and visit the restaurants and try their food."

The event will also feature a live fish pond, karaoke, a dunk tank, mini rail and frosty eating contest.

Summerfest runs from 11:00am to 4:00pm on 3rd and 4th Avenue and along Quebec Street.
