NewsElectoral Boundaries to Change
Public hearings will get underway next month for the recently proposed new federal electoral map. The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission will make a stop in Prince George. Chair of the commission John Hall says the hearings are an opportunity for the public to have its say in the new boundaries of BC's ridings. "Those are designed to have public input to the proposals that are out there at the moment. We've drawn some provisional maps and provisional boundaries, and we've put them out in the public domain. Now we'd like some feedback from people who would like to tell us what they think about it." Hall says every 10 years, because of the census, the population changes cause changes to the boundaries of ridings. Written comments are being accepted until October 18th. The hearing in Prince George will take place at the Coast Inn of the North on September 17th at 2pm. Most Viewed Stories
