NewsInterior Drive for Life Challenge Launched in PG
Today Canadian Blood Services in Prince George kicked off its annual Interior Drive for Life Challenge versus Kelowna. The six-week challenge will see which community can collect the most blood donations, with a goal of 885 donations and 94 new donors. Save On Foods is supporting the cause, and Manager Dave Blackmore says it's important to give blood. "We've got a social responsibility in our community and we want to be active in the community. This is a dear cause. 52 percent of Canadians are affected by the need for blood. So that means over half of our customers, half of the team members in our stores. We need blood." If Prince George wins the challenge, the mayor of Kelowna will have to don a Prince George Cougars jersey during council. The challenge goes until October 18th, and you can make an appointment to donate blood online or by phone. Most Viewed Stories
