The Town of Vanderhoof now has a new place to get hardware.

Today will see the Rona opening its doors to town taking over from the previous owners Nechako Trading.

Mayor Gerry Thiessen says having Rona in town will offer more options for people buying hardware.

"They've always had a great supply of building supplies and tools, those kinds of things. Certainly it's going to be something that contractors and businesses in our area are going to look forward to."

Thiessen says having Rona in Vanderhoof will support the construction and mining projects in the area.

The previous owners Nechako Trading had been operating in Vanderhoof for 32 years.
