Oil sands projects are expected to generate economic benefits all over Canada.  Nearly one third of oil sand investment between 2012 to 2035 will occur in provinces other than Alberta.  According to a Conference Board of Canada report states the impact of $364-billion investment on Canada's regions and industry sectors.  Director at the Conference Board of Canada Micheal Burt says the board has been monitoring oil sand projects.

"We made some adjustments to that list based on expectations on how much investment might occur in any given year," says Burt, "and just on how much production we expect to come out of the oil sands."

The development of Canada's oil sands deposits constitutes on of the largest development projects in the countries history.
