Prince George, B.C.
The first round of soldiers trained as reservists with the Prince George Rocky Mountain Rangers have graduated.
The 27 infantry, two medical technicians, and one administration clerk officially graduated yesterday.
Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Tyler says the soldiers must now complete two more rounds of training in Alberta.
"They'll do the next level of training, Basic Military Qualification, BMQ Land, and that is four weeks straight. When they're done that, the ones who pass, which should hopefully be everybody, will go onto their infantry level qualification."
Once the reservists return from Alberta, they will be eligible to apply to take part in overseas or domestic operations.
The leader of Canada's army troops in Canada was in town for the ceremony, which had about 120 spectators.
