The Northern Family Health Society in Prince George will be closing its doors at the end of August.

Chairperson Cheryl Wallace says after 23 years of operation, the programs they offer have simply been integrated into other community groups.

"That is just due to restructuring within the health care, and within programs that we deal with that deal with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, and the board in making decisions about being responsible with the funding that we receive through the government."

Wallace says they are working to make sure the programs they offer can be transitioned into other non-profit organizations within the community, and that the staff from the Northern Family Health Society can still be involved.
