--The WHL Championship Series will open Thursday
and Friday in Edmonton before the best of 7 final
shifts to Portland Sunday and Tuesday (May 8th).
The winner of the Ed Chynoweth Cup will compete at
the 2012 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Shawinigan,
Quebec. The Oil Kings beat Moose Jaw 4-1 to win the
Eastern Final 4-1.
The Winterhawks advanced following a four game
sweep of the Tri-City Americans in the Western Final.
