Prince George, B.C.

Prince George residents have a chance to learn about an electrical recycling program on August 19, 2012.

ElectroRecycle representatives will be rolling around town and set up at Summerfest to talk about recyclable items.

Product Care Association spokeswoman Melissa Pelto says the goal is to keep certain items out of landfills.

"So things like kitchen appliances, pretty much anything with a cord or battery and our program has recently expanded to now include power tools, fitness equipment, sewing machines."

ElectroRecycle ambassadors will be at the corner of Quebec Street and 3rd Avenues from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Broken electrical products can be recycled in Prince George at the BBK Bottle Depot and the Salvation Army.
