UNBC has taken its relationship with a college in Japan to the next level.

While on a trip to Japan as part of B.C.'s second Asian Trade Mission, UNBC's Alyson Gourley-Cramer says the university will be signing a memorandum of understanding with Gakushuin Women's College in Tokyo.

"We've actually had a relationship with them since 2006, and it's quite an exclusive arrangement. More than 600 students from Gakushuin have already attended UNBC, and they're UNBC's single largest international education partner."

Students at Gakushuin will be able to attend classes at UNBC through video conferencing.

This is part of a one-year pilot program to begin in September, with 15 to 20 Gakushuin students to share the virtual classroom with 25 students at UNBC.
