Prince George, B.C.

A judge has heard arguments from both the Crown and Defence and will now take some time to determine whether or not Brian Skakun's Freedom of Information Act conviction should be overturned.

The Prince George Councillor had his date in court yesterday with lawyer Jon Duncan arguing his client should be protected as a whistleblower.

Skakun says he is now in wait and see mode.

"The judge has been given binders and stacks of information to go through and it looks like it's probably going to take some time for him to come to a decision whether or not he reverses the judge's decision," said Skakun.

Skakun was convicted for releasing confidential portions of the Heller report three years ago, and received a $750 fine.
