Several Prince George sports organizations have received funding through the Community Gaming Grants.

One of them is the Youth Soccer Association, who received 100 thousand dollars.

Executive Director Len McNamara says the money will be used for various things within the association.

"The grant simply provides a subsidy to the operations of the association. It pays for referees, and it pays for field maintenance and utilities on running the indoor facility."

Over 25 hundred kids play in the association's outdoor soccer program, and 5 to 700 in the indoor program.

The other organizations in Prince George that received grant money were the Judo Association, Mardi Gras of Winter Society, and Spruce City Minor Boys Softball Association.
