First Nations Want Premier to Say No to Pipeline Plans

British Columbia's premier may be toughening her stance on the proposed Northern Gateway Project but some First Nations say it is not enough
Carrier Sekani Tribal Council Tribal Chief Terry Teegee says Christy Clark and the Province need to say no to the pipeline plans.
"Christy Clark needs to take a stand for British Columbia and she...should really take it further and state that this pipeline shouldn't go ahead and she's protecting First Nation's rights, title as well as British Colubmian's right to say no to this project."
The provincial government outlined five requirements last week that must be met before it will consider Enbridge's proposal to construct twin pipelines across Northern BC.
However, a group of allied First Nations along the proposed route, called the the Yinka Dene Alliance, say it is just a cash grab.
