Families with new borns now have an easier way to register their babies.  The new provincial birth registration system now allows families register their babies online.  Minister of Labour, Citizens' and Open Government Margaret MacDiarmid says this is an easier way to register babies rather than filling out handwritten forms.

"People can still do it the old way if they want to," says McDiarmid, "but this allows them to do it online, and it will be quick, and something they can do from their home."

McDiarmind says registering newborns online will take about 20 minutes.  Families can head to www.vs.gov.bc.ca to register their child.
