BRASILIA, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) – Brazil’s lower house of parliament on Tuesday night rejected a proposal to amend the constitution, backed by President Jair Bolsanaro, to change the country’s voting system for voting.
Right-wing Bolsanaro has threatened not to accept the results of next year’s presidential election – he lost to former left-wing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a poll – if the system is not changed, after allegations of fraud are substantiated.
