Gobierno e indígenas de Ecuador discuss the implementation of agreements

Quito, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the Government and indigenous movement of Ecuador will hold a meeting today to discuss the implementation plan of the agreements reached, after 90 days of dialogue.

The objective of the meeting is to determine the time when the agreements will come into force, the methodology with which they will be applied and the conditions necessary for their implementation, so in some cases it will be necessary to reform the legislation.

As explained by the leader of the Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas de Ecuador (Conaie), Leonidas Iza, who added that there are agreements to be implemented in short, medium and long terms, understood as a maximum of one year.

At the end of the meeting of this Wednesday, a schedule must be conformed so that the parties can verify the application of the agreed points, which were finalized in the final act of the dialogues signed last Friday.
