Junta y rebeldes pactan integrar a 26.000 insurgentes en el Ejército de Mali

Bamako, 6 ago (EFE).- The military junta of Mali and the Tuareg armed movements, signatories of the agreement of Algiers of 2015, agreed to integrate 26,000 of the combatants who fight in these groups in the ranks of the Malian government forces.

This decision was announced yesterday after a meeting in Bamako of representatives of the Government and these armed groups active in the north of Mali, such as the Coordinadora de Movimientos del Azawad (CMA, independentista) and the militias unionists of Gatia.

Los participants en esa cita, que duró cinco días, decidieron integrer a estos combatientes en las institutions military y de seguridad estatales en dos etapas antes del 2024 y de acuerdo con las cuotas que corresponden cada uno de estos grupos rebelde.

Likewise, they agreed on the establishment of a specialized commission to integrate the high civil and military officials of these movements in different spheres of the administrations of the State.

Los llamados “Acuerdos de Alger” fueron rubricados en la capital argelina en Mayo del 2015 y supusieron la firma de la peace entre el Gobierno de Bamako y los insurgentes armados tuareg, que controlan extensas zonas en el norte del país.

A pesar del accordo de paz, the CMA continues to be the principal de facto authority in large areas of Azawad (north of Mali) and provides basic services in the territories it controls, especially in the region of Kidal.

Los rebeldes Tuareg condición la vuelta del Ejército maliense al Azawad con la formation de las tropas que operarán en el norte con una majority de población local en cuanto a sus efectivos y comandancia.

The decision to integrate the rebel fighters into the Malian government forces is produced amid the rise of jihadist groups after the withdrawal of foreign forces operating in the country, such as the French antiterrorist Berkhane. EFE
