Quebec issues new overnight curfew, more than 650K cases of corona virus in Canada – National

Cases of the corona virus novel crossed 650,000 in Canada on Saturday as the impact of new epidemics continues to be reported in various parts of the country.

Health officials detected 8,124 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of viruses in Canada to 651,972. A further 126 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 16,833.

To date, 545,971 patients have recovered from the virus, while more than 19,371,000 trials have been administered.

According to COVID19Tracker.ca, a total of 296,241 vaccines have been given.

Data on Saturday draws a limited snapshot of the virus spreading across the country, although states and all territories such as PEI and BC have not released new case statistics.

Most of the new cases on Saturday were reported by Ontario and Quebec because both provinces are constantly increasing the number of new cases, deaths and hospitalizations from the virus.

Quebec, the longest-infected province in Canada, has imposed the country’s toughest public health measure to date – a new curfew that will last from 8pm to 5am, effective for at least a month.

In the case of the province, the new rules apply to all but a select few, and violators of essential workers and their dogs will be fined $ 6,000.

The measures came into effect as the province broke 3,000 daily cases for the first time on Saturday, raising its total to 226,233. A further 41 deaths have been reported in Quebec, bringing the death toll to 8,647 – the highest ever in Canada.

Ontario added a further 3,443 cases of COVID-19, raising its provincial casino to 211,837. A further 40 deaths were reported on Saturday, bringing the total to 4,922.

Alberta recorded 1,000 new cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the province to 110,641 now.

Saskatchewan recorded 329 new cases and Manitoba more than 200 cases.

In Atlantic Canada, both states filed additional lawsuits on Saturday.

New Brunswick recorded 30 new outbreaks on Saturday – just one out of 31 under its provincial record. In Nova Scotia, three more cases were reported by health officials, raising its case to 1,529.

No new cases were reported Saturday in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as all three territories.
