One person has died in hospital after being stabbed in a building in Scarborough on Wednesday, Toronto police say.
The stabbing took place in the East and Midland Avenue areas of Eglinton Avenue. Constable said an emergency team was called to the scene at 5:10 p.m. David Hopkinson, spokesman for the Toronto Police Service.
“We received reports that a man had been stabbed and that citizens were actually doing CPR to save him,” he said.
When police arrived, they found someone with life-threatening injuries.
Toronto paramedics also rushed the man to the hospital. He was pronounced dead there.
The murder detectives have been notified and are expected to take up the case.
Police have recorded a scene where there is a large police presence.
“We have a lot of officers. We have officers looking for witnesses, looking for evidence. The authorities have now stopped the scene as the forensic identification continues,” Hopkinson said.

The suspect is a black man with long black hair, wearing an all black dress and black bubble jacket. Police said he was armed, violent and considered dangerous.
If anyone sees him, the police warn against approaching him and ask anyone who finds him to call 911 immediately.
