The massacre in Colombia has killed more than 170 people so far in 2021

At least 172 people have died in Colombia as a result of 45 homicides recorded in the South American country in the first six months of 2021.

According to the Institute for Development and Peace Research (Indepass) outstanding so far this year, Colombia has surpassed the 12 homicides recorded in the first six months of 2020, with 33 such crimes recorded.

According to the Human Rights Organization, the department with the highest number of homicides so far in 2021 is Antioch with nine, followed by Gaga with eight multiple homicides and then Valle del Gaga with seven homicides.

In terms of number of deaths, the top two sectors on the list are Valle del Gaga and Antigua with 32 deaths and Gaga with 28 records.
