The initiative, which runs until tomorrow, is expected to reach the target of 85 per cent of the population protected from the disease.
For this purpose, vaccination centers will operate nationwide from 08:00 to 16:00 local time, where the first and second doses of biologics used in the country (Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac) will be used for those over five years of age. Years.
In addition, reinforcements will be used for people who completed the schedule six months ago to protect the health and lives of the Ecuadorian people.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, 25.4 per cent of children between the ages of five and 11 in the country have already been fully vaccinated, and 61.8 per cent of children between the ages of 12 and 17.
78.8 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds and 84.2 percent of 25- to 49-year-olds are immunized.
In total, 11.7 million Ecuadorians out of a population of 17.7 million have a complete immunization program.
For its part, the government is ensuring that it has the necessary resources to complete the project and protect the people, as the number of Govt-19 cases is increasing in some cities.
Officials insist the vaccines will help prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death.
